1. Cathedral Thinking
Our modern world is built on "Quarterly Returns." We want results now. Cathedral Thinking asks: "What am I building that will last 100 years?" When you elongate your timeline, anxiety decreases. You do not need to "win" today. You just need to lay one brick perfectly.
2. The Joy of Anonymity
Many cathedral masons didn't sign their work. They carving gargoyles high up on the roof where no one would see them. Why? Because they weren't working for the applause of the crowd. They were working for the Craft (and for God).
This is the antidote to the "Influencer Economy." Do good work even when no one is watching. That is integrity.
3. The 100-Year Plan
Practice: The Eulogy Exercise
A classic, but essential.
- Write your own eulogy.
- Not what you *achieved* (money/status). But who you *were*.
- "He was patient." "She was kind." "They built a community."
- Start laying those bricks today.
