The Tenth Studio

Leela (India)

The Craft of Play. In Indian philosophy, *Leela* (Divine Play) suggests that the universe is not a job to be done, but a game to be played. We use this studio to cure Imposter Syndrome. You are not a "fake" person; you are a player in the cosmic drama.

1. The World is a Stage

Imposter Syndrome comes from the belief that there is a "Real You" and a "Fake You," and you will be exposed. Leela teaches that *all* identities are costumes. The CEO is a costume. The Expert is a costume. The goal is not to "be real." The goal is to play your role convincingly for the joy of the game.

2. Seriousness vs. Sincerity

Alan Watts often said: "Be sincere, but not serious." Seriousness is heavy. It says "If I fail, I die." This causes anxiety. Leela is Playfulness. It says "If I fail, the scene changes." This causes freedom.

"Man suffers only because he takes seriously what the gods made for fun."

3. The Avatar Method

Practice: Choosing Your Avatar

When you feel like an imposter:

  1. Stop trying to be "yourself" (the scared self).
  2. Ask: "Which character does this scene require?" (e.g., The Wise Mentor, The Bold Visionary).
  3. Slipping into character is not lying. It is stepping up to the requirements of the moment.
  4. Play the scene.
